Short video captures condition much better than words. Please watch prior to purchase to ensure a clear understanding of the book.

Peterson’s Magazine. 1856 Annual.
Published monthly, Philadelphia.
12 monthly issues, January – December 1856. 422 pages. With twelve (12) hand colored dress fashion plates, numerous steel engravings and many wood engraved images throughout.

Period 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine gilt lettered and ruled into compartments. Binding scuffed, joints cracked, however book remains tight and sound. Two color plates replaced with slightly larger folding fashion plates from a different year of Peterson.

Profusely illustrated monthly journal aimed at domestic women in America in the middle of the 19th century.

Attractive looking book. Minor flaws to contents, small scattered soiling or age spotting, never anything offensive or severe.

Entirely acceptable if not nice looking example in an attractive original period binding.

Book measures: 9 5/8″ H X 6 3/8″ W.

[V1974].
