It’s the final day of London fashion week which this year has been hailed as a creative renaissance of British talent.
“Workers for Freedom” chose London as the place to exhibit their latest collections after a two year absence from the circuit.
One of the designers behind the label was overcome with emotion after his seeing his creations paraded down the catwalk.
“Workers for Freedom” were the first show of London fashion week’s final day.
Their clothes have a youthful feel – this may be why they opted to use very young models in favour of the big names in the modelling world.
Bright colours and floaty fabrics were part of their Spring and Summer 1997 collections but bold black and white dresses were also popular.
The trouser suit has been included in nearly every designer show so far and “Workers for Freedom ” were no exception.
But the favourite design had to be pastel dresses and the all important accessory of a basket of flowers on the head of each model.
Backstage after the show, models were either relaxing or being prepared for the next one.
For many this is their first experience of the limelight.
Design duo Richard Nott and Graham Fraser make up the fashion label “Workers for Freedom.”
Around since the mid 1980’s – they make clothes for the younger and funkier girl.
The British born pair have not shown collections for the past two years and this year sees the return of their designs to the catwalk.
Newly-backed by American sponsors – they say they’re coming back in a big way and now have lots to show off.
SOUNDBITE:
“I’ve always believed that maybe it’s just better to show when you’ve got something to say rather than forcing yourself to do it on a regular routine kind of basis. Because we’ve got a this new investment in “Workers for Freedom” we just felt that we had something to say this time.”

One half of the duo Graham Fraser was so overwhelmed with emotion after the show he had to be taken outside to be comforted by friends.
London Fashion Week finishes Saturday – the international fashion world now moves onto the Milan shows.
