This is the sixth and last part of my series on Downton Abbey’s costumes.

Lady Mary Crawley played by Michelle Dockery is the eldest daughter to Lord and Lady Grantham. She is feisty and is quite shallow and mean at times, but she cares greatly for her family and friends; even their servants. Mary is used to getting all the attention, especially from men as her parents are trying to marry her off. Going through a lot of troubles she learns her lesson and becomes more steady and caring. All of her gowns are very playful in design and only the best of fashion. Her dresses are the most elaborate designs in the show. She wears a lot of lace and embroideries with details like beads, sequins and multiple layers of different fabrics giving the dress a completely new shape or appearance.
The dress shown in this drawing is a tan coloured gown covered with black chiffon. The front if highly elaborate with black and silver beads and crystals creating a flowery or starlike pattern.
