Tunics are loved by many because of their versatility and the comfort they provide. Indeed, everyone should get a tunic. They are very useful during the winter months or when you’re traveling to somewhere where the weather is cool. They are also ideal for making a fashion statement. If you don’t know the best ways to wear a tunic, then this article is for you. Below are some tips on how to wear a tunic and how to look good in one.

Can you tuck them in?

As mentioned earlier, one of the best things about tunics is their versatility. They can be worn in different ways. And there are no hard rules on how one should wear a tunic. So you can wear one either tucked or untucked. It all boils down to which part of your body you want to focus on. If you want to create the illusion of length, then you should wear one untucked. If you want to focus on your midsection, then you can tuck your tunic in. Needless to say, you can create countless looks with a single tunic.

Good for layering

Tunics are good for layering up. This is the reason why they are perfect as winter clothes. You can put a cardigan or a cropped jacket on top of your tunic for added warmth and style. Or if you really want to turn heads, you can even wear a leather jacket over your tunic. Follow the long over lean rule if you want to create a unique look. Layering, of course, doesn’t only mean clothes. You can also layer using jewelry and accessories. You can wear a belt over your tunic. You can also wear a scarf or even a necklace.

Pair them with leggings

Tunics and leggings go together like cookies and milk. But you can also wear them with other types of pants. The general rule is, you should wear a tunic with a fitted bottom. Pairing with loose or wide-legged pants will produce an unflattering look since the tunic already adds volume to your body. On the other hand, painting a tunic with skinny jeans creates a chic and elegant look. You can even pair a tunic with chinos for a dressier look. You just need to make sure that the chinos have a slim fit.

What about shoes?

Shoes with heels are probably the best type to wear with a tunic, especially if you want to look tall and slim. This doesn’t mean however that flats won’t work with tunics. If you have a streamlined tunic, then pairing it with flats can give you a casual yet stylish look. Keep in mind that what you don’t want to happen is to add bulk.

Now you know how to be in fashion with tunics. It isn’t hard, right? The secret lies in being creative. Feel free to experiment with different looks until you find the right combination. And don’t forget to have fun while searching for the right combinations.
